I’ve been on a mission lately to find genuinely authentic Italian food across the UAE, specifically places that do classic types of pizza properly, like Neapolitan thin crust and Roman style, rather than heavy fast-food chains.
I recently checked out Il Forno (they have spots across Dubai and Abu Dhabi), and I was really impressed. They've been around for over 26 years and actually just won Best Upscale Italian Dining Experience UAE 2026 by LUXlife Magazine.
Their menu has a great pizza variety (the truffle mushroom and chili honey pepperoni are amazing), plus traditional types of pasta made fresh. For anyone watching their macros or staying active, they also serve some of the best protein pasta options loaded with fresh seafood, chicken, and rich ragùs.
In my opinion, it definitely belongs on the list of the best pasta restaurants in Dubai and Abu Dhabi right now.
