Hi everyone, I'm really hoping I'm not alone in this because I'm starting to feel like my car has something against me. I have a 2019 Dodge Charger that I bought brand new and I absolutely love the power and the way it drives. But I've had to replace the battery twice already in just three years and now I think it might be dying again. The first time was about a year after I bought the car and I thought maybe it was just a bad battery from the factory. The second time was last summer during that really brutal heatwave we had. Now the car is starting to crank slowly again when the engine is cold and the other day the radio screen flickered for a second which has never happened before. I took it to a garage and the guy tested the battery and said it's still okay for now but he wouldn't be surprised if it died within the next few months. He suggested I start looking into options now rather than waiting until I get stranded somewhere. The thing is I don't want to keep throwing money at batteries every year if there's something else going on that's killing them. I've heard that the heat in Abu Dhabi is really hard on car batteries and that some brands handle it better than others. I started doing some research online to learn more about what kind of battery would be best for my Charger in this climate. I found a page where I could read more about battery options and I learned that there are different grades of batteries with different heat resistance levels. But honestly all the technical terms were a bit confusing and I'm still not sure what I should be looking for. Does anyone here drive a Dodge Charger or similar muscle car and have found a battery brand that actually lasts more than a year or two in this weather? Also should I be looking for a battery with a higher cold cranking amp rating even though it never gets cold here because I've heard that can help with hotter climates too? And is there anything else that could be causing my batteries to die so fast like a problem with the alternator or some kind of electrical drain? I really don't want to replace the battery again only to have it die in another twelve months. Any advice from fellow Dodge owners or anyone who knows a lot about car batteries would be so helpful. Thanks everyone for reading.
